		<description>I had success with the strategies suggested here, but I&#039;ll add a bit (because I can). With my daughter, being pleasant, straight-forward, and positive - but not sugary-sweet/over the top - about the drop off helped during this age. Something like, [smile] + &quot;Here you go, honey. Miss Sharon is going to help you have a good day, and I&#039;ll be back after lunch!&quot; + [smooch] and then actually leaving.

Sneaking off, which was actually suggested to me by the day care center director (wah?!), has always come back to bite me in the butt. Now the tot is four and at a home day care that she loves so much, I hardly walk her through the door and she&#039;s split to go play with her buds.

This is a tough time, but thankfully it does pass.
